CHAPTER – 3
Yea.. It was too late!!! Too late because before Pranav could go and pull Pratiksha, the same was done by a young and handsome man!! Yes… When Pranav was watching the bike coming in her way and was running towards her, a man in his middle-twenties came and pulled Pratiksha and started to scold her….
The bike which came in her way, crossed her, but the driver of the bike turned back and saw Pratiksha. Pranav couldn’t see his face as he was wearing a helmet! Both of them didn’t seem to hear Pranav’s shouting also!!
Poor Pranav slowed down but still walked fast near Pratiksha, with a thumbing heart. When Pranav came near Pratiksha, all he could hear was…
“Is this the way you walk on the road?”
“How many times I could have told you to be careful when walking on the road?”
“If I couldn’t have been there on time, what would have happened to you?”
“First stop thinking too-much, that too with your little brain! J “
Throughout this scolding, Pratiksha’s head was down in guilty feeling but on the last saying she turned her head up and started to stare at the stranger’s face with a little smile on her face!! When Pranav came near them, both of them turned towards him.
Pranav asked “Nothing happened to you na? Ud…..Pratiksha? I saw the bike and shouted your name but before I could come, he saved you”
Pratiksha couldn’t face Pranav, because till that time she was scolding herself for being rude to him! She was asking herself “Why was I so harsh on him? He didn’t knew that I don’t like marriage and love, so he just wished that I could get a good life partner….
I should have told him softly my opinion, but instead I scolded him! At last he is my boss also….” With these thoughts in mind only Pratiksha walked on road, and didn’t notice the bike coming on her way!
Pratiksha told “Sorry Pranav, I shouldn’t have been harsh on you, but that minute I couldn’t control my anger… Sorry once again.” She turned back to the stranger and told “He is Mr. Pranav Kumar, my MD in my new office”.
The stranger turned towards Pranav and greeted him with a handshake and told “Hi Pranav… Am Nikil, Pratiksha’s friend” Pranav just replied a “Hi!” He then turned back to Pratiksha and asked her “Are you going to your home now?” for which Pratiksha replied a “yes”.
Nikil told “Then am also coming to your home now, was feeling very bored so started to ashram, as you will be there! But now, as you are going home, I will also come” Pranav noticed that he didn’t ask Pratiksha’s permission but just informed her that he is coming…! Both told a “Bye Pranav“ formally and started to get inside a car, probably Nikil’s, and left.
Pranav doesn’t know how his mood was and called his dearest buddy, Santosh (One of his cousins who met him in beach). He told Santosh to meet him in a nearby coffee shop. When he reached there Santosh was already there, and Pranav started to pour his heart out and told what all happened till last minute.
Santosh then asked him, “Are you jealous about him da? What is going on your mind now?” Pranav immediately replied back “No no da… Am not feeling jealous and all……. But yes a little bit jealous!!” Santosh started to laugh at Pranav expression and made Pranav even more angry 😛
Pranav angrily told “Why are laughing now? Am I a joker? Am feeling jealous because she didn’t talk with me few sentences also continuously, but that Nikil is scolding her, going to her home, and is indeed very close to her!! Even I want to be close to her like that” He started angrily but eventually ended hesitantly.
Santosh told “Ok da… Now leave this Nikil matter. Take her address from your office network and give to me… I will see whether I can help you out, as am also in KK Nagar only…..” Pranav eyes sparkled with this new idea and told him that he will give it tomorrow itself…
When he was saying this mobile rang which told “Amma calling” He picked up the call and his mom asked where he is now? And asked him to come to his home soon. He told that he is with Santosh and assured her he will be there in half-an-hour.
Pranav went to home with Santosh, to only have even more shocks, for that day!!! L
When Pranav and Santosh reached home, Reshma’s family (Pranav’s cousin) were also in his home. Pranav realized some uneasiness in the atmosphere, as all were silent.
He greeted Reshma’s parents and waved a “Hi” to Reshma. Reshma replied with a “Hi da” in a usual tone. Santosh asked “What happened? Why are you all silent? Hey Reshma at least you tell what happened” with a thoughtful look on everyone.
Parvathi replied hesitantly “What to say? We all thought that Pranav and Reshma would be a very good pair, and asked Reshma for her consent but Reshma denied that proposal saying she can’t marry Pranav because she thought him as her friend only…. Now again, we parents have to start our process of searching good bride and groom for them!! That’s why we are unhappy….”
Pranav got really shocked by this incident, because he didn’t think of Reshma in place of his love anytime. He immediately turned to Rehsma but her face was quite normal with a cute smile.
So, Pranav also gained courage and told to his mom, ”Ma…Even I go with Reshma, I can’t even imagine Reshma like that!! And ma, I have a very big project going to start soon in my office.
So, please stop this marriage plans for next 6 or 8 months!! I will say when I am free… Please until then don’t disturb me!! Hey Reshma and Santosh come with me to terrace. Let’s chat there…”
Now, Parvathi got even angrier and started to complain about him, to his father Shiva. But the youngsters were not there to listen to her complaints!! All started laughing after they reached terrace. Reshma told with a sigh of relief, “Hey my worst nightmare would be marrying you only Pranav. Thank god, our parents didn’t force us!!”
Hearing this, Pranav started to stare at her angrily but ended up laughing again. Santosh asked “Why you are not interested in arranged marriage ah? Do you also have someone in your mind?” with a naughty smile.
Reshma started beating Santosh and told “You knew already that am now fully focused on my career in MBA course. I don’t have time for love and all” Santosh and Pranav started to tease her the whole day.
Next day, the first job Pranav did was to fetch Pratiksha’s address in office network and message Santosh!! From morning his eyes were on Pratiksha, who wore a black color salwar-kameez and was looking very pretty.
He somehow, managed to find a seat in her table, during lunch break. He tried hard to cover the eagerness and curiosity in his eyes. After lunch when they were moving back to their cubicle, Pranav asked her, “Pratiksha, Nikil is your school or college friend?”
Pratikshathrowed a suspicious look on Pranav…. She understood he was showing some interest on her with activities and his eyes. So, she thought for a second but replied him back, “May I know why you are asking this?”
Pranav told “Just asked…. He seemed to be nice guy….” He heart was beating very fast when he said this J
But, Pratiksha told with a smile on her face, “Sorry Pranav, I don’t discuss my personal life with anyone” and left the place quickly. Pranav stood there, without knowing what to do with her!! That week Pranav didn’t try to talk with her and just acted to be normal in front of her. L
That weekend Pranav, Santosh, Reshma all three met in a famous mall for a movie. After finishing the movie, when they returned to the car parking, they saw a beautiful flower bouquet on their car, with a greeting card, attached to it.
All three were surprised to see this, Reshma took that bouquet and greeting in her hand. She opened the greeting card which read,
“Wherever you may be in this world,
My heart still thinks of you only!!
I don’t know what to say to you
Except those 3 beautiful words
I LOVE YOU”
