PURSUIT OF LOVE– CHAPTER 2

It was a very pleasant Sunday evening in Chennai, after a hot day. Pratiksha thought to go to marina beach, a popular spot for breezy evenings. So, she called her one and only best friend and college mate Priya to come with her to beach.

Priya told “I will be there in beach around 5.00 Pm Prathu, come at that time”. Soon Pratiksha got ready and reached beach at 5.00. She got a call from Priya at that time and Priya said “Sorry Prathu I was held up in home because of sudden visit of family friends.

Am now only starting from home! Will reach there soon ma… Sorry once again”. Pratiksha wasn’t angry because Priya would always be there on time, and rarely comes late. So she replied “It’s okay da… I will wait near the waves. Just call me when u reached here….!”

Pratiksha went near the waves and sat down in one place far away from the normal crowd and shops. She plugged in her headsets and started was hearing songs in her mobile….

After sometime she heard some laughing sound but didn’t open her eyes and started listening to music again. But as the laughing and shouting sound where becoming more and more louder she couldn’t help but turn back and see who were the reason behind it.

She was surprised to see Pranav with 4 girls running around and escaping from their beatings!!She had seen him as a MD of her company, but she didn’t expect this side of him.

The girls were looking like college-goers and were shouting and running behind him…Soon Pratiksha turned towards waves but stopped her music as she couldn’t hear anything in that sound.

“Hey tell me da who is that girl?”

“U have cheated me, u idiot!! I thought you will marry me only…..”

“Where did you meet her? Tell us the details”

“U broke many of the girls’ heart by saying this… We won’t forgive you Pranav!”

The girls were shouting like these, and Pratiksha could hear all these….. She thought that Pranav was a flirting person with all girls, and now have decided to marry someone else….

Soon, the climate changed as if it is going to rain and dark cloud could be seen all over the sky! Pratiksha took her phone to call Priya, when Priya came and kept her hand on her shoulder, saying “Sorry da…. kept u waiting for long time”.

Pratiksha replied “It’s ok!! How many times you will ask?”Priya started her non-stop chatting with Pratiksha, but she was more interested in what her boss was doing, because when Priya came 2 other boys came who might be in their middle twenties.

They all sat now in a round manner and started to chat, no no shout about Pranav to the other boys also. Now Priya was also listening to what they talking!! Pratiksha told “That red T-shirt guy is my new MD,Pranav Kumar”. Priya replied back angrily immediately”I have seen him with these girls last 2 weeks back in EA mall… there also they were making hell lot of noise!”

Pratiksha was surprised and thought they may be his girl-friends!! Priya added in hatred voice “These rich boys will do like this only…. Lots of money…. Don’t know what to do and try to make all new GFs each week!

These girls also fall for their money and gifts and in end try to marry them and settle in life!! U be careful about him Prathu!”Pratiksha suddenly got angry and replied in a stubborn face “U already know about me na? Itotally hate this love,marriage and all kinds of stuffs? Then why are you asking me to be careful? I won’t fall for anyone… Don’t worry!!”

Priya told “I don’t have the energy to debate with you on love and marriage, so we will go to shops and buy something first… Am hungry now”. A smile came on Pratiksha’s face and she said “You are always hungry” J

While walking Pratiksha told to Priya that “I think so Pranav is in love with someone now. That girl were talking and scolding in at-most jealous! “, to which Priya hesitantly told “Whatever it may be…. It’s none of our business”

But poor girls they didn’t realize that it was Pratiksha who was the hot-topic of Pranav and his cousins. Yes…… They were not his GFs as Pratiksha thought but were indeed his closest buddies since childhood! And how could Pranav keep his secret of love without letting them know?

So he called for them this friends and started telling his week old love story…. At the end he formed few plans with his cousins for getting close to his lady love, but little did he know that all the plans are going to fail one by one.

Next day, Pranav started to his office, about how to talk to Pratiksha, in his office. He has rehearsed many times within himself, in front of mirror, many times about how to start the conversation with Pratiksha!

That day in at around 11.00 AM Pratiksha was called by Arun and told her that Pranav wants to meet her now. Pratiksha started wondering why he is calling her alone and thought maybe he saw her yesterday, in the beach. But she didn’t know that Pranav didn’t notice her also in beach!!!

She entered with a quite knock and “Excuse me” and was replied “Yes, come in..”

Pranav showed her the seat opposite to him, and she sat with a “Thank you sir”. Pranav told “Please call me Pranav that’s enough, no need of this sir and all… Not only me you can address anyone in the office with their first name” Actual reason is he wants to be called by his name, especially by her… J

Pratiksha asked “Ok Pranav, May I know the reason why I was called here?”

Pranav replied “Yes. That’s because I want I help form you, actually…. Our company is helping some NGOs and few ashrams by donating some percentage in our profit….

I thought we could help even more ashrams and NGOs! Are you helping any of the NGOs or ashrams here in Chennai? Can you help me in this?”

Pratiksha didn’t expect this kind of conversation from Pranav and was surprised but replied “Yes! I do know few ashrams, and am helping the kids with spoken English classes on weekends… How can I help you in this?”

Pranav told “First am forming a team for this under yourselves and Arun, as you know about ashrams and Arun will help you in all outside activities” He called Arun and they formed a plan, according to which they will first visit one ashram in coming Saturday, along with Pratiksha.

After that Pratiksha left the room thinking that he has some goodness also inside himJ. In lunch break Pratiksha was having her lunch with her other new friends quietly.

Suddenly everyone were surprised to see Pranav entering the canteen with his lunch box. He sat one among them, while still all were staring at him. He then told “Why all are looking at me like this? Here after am going to eat my lunch daily with you people only.Am doing this because no one should feel there this any difference BTW us;

I want to mingle with you all, and you shouldn’t feel me as your boss, but as your friend. Now continue your eating and chatting work! J “

Everyone was surprised but continued their work… That’s how Pranav started to eat with Pratiksha daily… Yes somehow he managed to get a seat in her table…!! She wouldn’t talk much but for him being closer and watching her itself it’s enough!!

That week passed by without any much trouble for Pranav as he was busy in getting a big project.

On Saturday morning Pratiksha got ready in her flat and went to the ashram, while Pranav was already for her there with Arun… Sincere in love… 😛 She introduced him to the owner of the ashram, Ramesh and went to teach English for the kid.

Ramesh took him around the ashram and giving him details. Soon, Pratiksha came finishing her classes and started to talk with Ramesh. While they were discussing things in room, one family came into the room. They introduced themselves as father, mother,daughter.

The father told “This is my daughter Ritika, we have planned for her marriage on next month 10^th. So, on that day we would like to take care of all expenses in ashram”.

While they were talking with Pranav noticed Pratiksha seeing them longingly at that family, especially at their daughter.

Pranav understood her feelings and came near to her and told smilingly “Don’t worry, You will soon get a life-partner, who takes care of you well and showers all his love and affection on you thorough out your life !!!” He told this keeping him in mind…. J

But suddenly Pratiksha got angry and her faced turned red. She, with full hatredness in her voice replied back “I don’t need any life partner to take care of me and shower their love!!! I know how to take care of my life and I don’t need anyone’s help in that!!! “

Pranav got confused and asked back “What happened? Why you got angry suddenly? Don’t you like marriage? What is the problem with you“

Pratiksha replied back “I have important work now Pranav, I have to leave, Bye ” and started walking across the ashram’s main gate…..

Pranav stood there disheartened and but started following her in few seconds…

When Pratiksha was walking fast in the main road, he saw a bike coming her way in full speed, and shouted “Pratiksha!!!” and ran towards her….But it was too late now…..!!!
