This ghee rice can easily make a healthy one dish meal for kids. Adults too can relish with a spicy korma.
YOu can pack for their lunch boxes too as it can be made quickly and easily.
Jeera rice - 1 cup
Onion- 1 small
Tomato - 1 small
Green chilli - 1
Coriander leaves - 4-5 strands
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
Salt - as per your taste
Clove and Cinnamonn - 1 or 2 each
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Ghee - one teaspoon
Method
1. Soak jeera rice for 20 minutes. After that drain water completely and keep it aside.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and ghee, then crackle clove and cinnamons.
3. Fry chopped onions, and add green chilli and coriander leaves till the onion becomes transparent.
4. Fry ginger - garlic paste till the raw smell goes.
5. Add chopped tomato, cook until they are mushy.
6. Add rice and fry for a minute.
7. Add water (rice:water :: 1:2) and salt. when it starts to boil check for the saltiness.
8. Close the cooker with its lid and leave for 2-3 whistles.
9. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Yummy, fragrant ghee rice ready.
Note:
1. You can use only ghee instead of oil and ghee.
2. You can add peas before adding rice, to make it like a quick peas pulav.
