Akshadh’s POV

“Dhiya, I don’t know how to thank you. You are the wonderful gift of God to us. I have none to share my happiness now. Shall I hug you once, Dhiya?”

She stood shockingly with no response. She looked into my eyes with a blissful feeling. I could read her eyes and then, She bends her head down with shyness.

I hugged her and she hugged me back. I felt complete at this moment. Also, I felt that I have a better half to share all my happiness and sadness. Then a minute later, we loosened ourselves. I found Dhiya in tears.

“Dhiya! I am sorry if I am wrong” I said worriedly.

“Will you & Allen be with me forever, Akshadh?” She asked me.

Meanwhile, I got a call from the training committee regarding the reports.

“Dhiya, Don’t worry about anything. We shall discuss this little later. Now we shall examine the patients allotted to us by the committee,”

“Ok, Akshadh,”

Dhiya’s POV

“Shall I hug you once, Dhiya?” Akshadh asked me. It was a real shock to me and I didn’t expect it from him. I understood his situation and what made him ask me? I felt happy about it but don’t know what to react to him.

I stood looking at his eyes and he looked at me longing. I conveyed my big “Yes” to him through my eyes. Understanding that he pouted and I bend my head down. He hugged me immediately and I wrapped my hands around him. I felt comfortable in his arms. He was the man born for me. I would never leave him in my life. A tear drop cornered my eyes while thinking about him. He loosened the hug and I couldn’t wipe off my tears at once. He looked at me with tearful eyes. He felt sorry for hugging me.  I have lots of question to ask him about love, life but how could I ask him without knowing what is in his mind and Heart?

Akshadh’s POV

We visited the Cancer Patient’s ward. There were six members admitted, two ladies and four gents of middle age. We examined their reports, added our suggestions in the report, medicines prescribed, chemotherapy etc etc. Unlike other countries, here the patients were strong enough to overcome cancer. Mostly, they would examine their body in the beginning stage itself if they found symptoms. The U.S provides proper awareness for cancer and how to overcome it. It is really appreciable and I wish every country should follow this. After examining, we filled up the form send by the committee through the mail and send them back. Yes! Today’s work is over.

“Akshadh! Why can’t we suggest such medicines in our country? I have undergone research about this medicine and I am sure it would save the lives of many”

“Dhiya, only we can tell suggestions and we can’t offer it without getting approval from our country. I have suggested it already in our country and it was under process. Hopefully, it should get approval earlier to save many lives,”

“Good Job, Akshadh,”

Then I called the specialist doctor and enquired about Allen.

“Akshadh! No need to worry about Allen. She is taking rest now and she is getting normal. Tomorrow we shall discharge her from the hospital because you and Dhiya are her further treatments. You both should help her to overcome from Xenophobia, It is in the hands of you both, Akshadh”

“Ok doctor,” I disconnected the call.

Then we walked towards the garden area situated near the hospital for relaxing and soothing of mind. There we had our lunch.

Dhiya’s POV

“Tomorrow, We are taking Allen to home,” said Akshadh after enquiring her health condition to the doctor.

Happy about it, Akshadh. Are you taking her to your flat?”

“I don’t know Dhiya, It depends on Allen’s suggestions because doctors said that we both should help her to overcome from Xenophobia,”

“Ok Akshadh, we should try our best and she will come out of it for sure.”

“Yes Dhiya, hoping so”

“Also, I am worrying about Allen,” I said slowly.

“Why?”

“We will be here for three more days and how did Allen stay without us? Will it affect her health again?”

“Definitely, it will affect Allen. It may make her life worse too. She can’t accept immediately if we went back to India. I am thinking about it,”

“Oh!!! Why can’t we take Allen to India?”

“We can’t take or adopt Allen as she was under treatment, a medical certificate is necessary. Already, I talk to her relatives about adopting her but her aunty is adamant to give her to me. She claimed a case against me and  Mr.John helped me here. Nearly, it will take one year to complete all the procedures,”

“Oh! Helpless. What to do then?”

“Let us think about it, Dhiya?”

“Okay,”

“Usually, I would come to the U.S about twice a month to see Allen keeping my busy schedule aside,”

I showed a small smile. He was very gentle by nature. Now, he started talking to me freely.

Meanwhile, he got a call from his Mumma.

Akshadh’s POV

“Amma (Mother)”

“How about you, Akshadh?”

“I am fine amma. How about you & brother?”

“We are fine here, Are you busy, Akshadh? Did I disturb you?”

“No amma, you called me at the correct time. I told about Allen’s health improvement to the current situation. I was very much confused about what to do next?”

Happy to know about Allen. At least then may Robert’s and Manvi’s soul rests in peace. Akshadh, don’t worry about it, depending on Allen’s decision we shall think further,”

“Yes! You are right Amma. I am very much relaxed now,”

“Ok, Akshadh,”

“Then,”

“Nothing, Bye! Take care,” she said and disconnected the call. I knew mom called to say something and she disconnected without saying.

Dhiya looked at me smiling.

“Why are you smiling, Dhiya?”

“Is it a sin to smile?” She asked kidding me.

“Nope! But a refreshing smile, I hope there is a reason behind it,”

“Ohh!!!”

“Yes”

“Your wife is going to be a very lucky girl in the universe, Akshadh” she said that I didn’t expect.

“My wife! Why lucky?” I exhaled a deep breath out. Mind voice ~If you said these words before, I would have behaved rudely because I hate marriage, wife etc etc because I wished to spend my rest of life for Allen but now the meaning of wife is realized after meeting you Dhiya.

“You love your mother a lot so you will definitely love your wife a lot,”

I smiled.

Mind voice ~ Yes Dhiya! I think I am in love with you. This is the first time I am hearing these words patiently. It is very sweet to hear from you.

“Dhiya! It is time to meet Allen, Let us go there,”

“Okay”

We came back to the hospital. The psychiatrist was examining Allen and we waited outside.

After examining Allen, The psychiatrist came out.

“Akshadh, Allen was perfectly alright in all other aspects except Xenophobia. She behaves like a normal person now but if we didn’t tackle Xenophobia then it will make her life worse. So, it is necessary to take steps immediately regarding the phobia. Once, if she overcame from it then there is nothing to worry about it,”

“Ok doctor, we will take care of her. Can you predict how long a person takes to overcome a phobia?”

“Actually, we can’t predict but in case of Allen, she started responding to us (I mean we doctors are strangers to her) It means she started recovering from it. Only her self confidence and your support will help her to overcome it as quick as possible. It may take two hours to several years to recover but can’t be predicted. One important thing I am telling again, don’t leave her until she recovers, if it happens it will make her life worse,”

“Ok doctor, thank you,”

We entered into Allen’s room.

Daddy and Mumma, where did you go leaving me here?”

“Baby, we allowed you to sleep peacefully,” I said.

“Ok, daddy! When will you take me home? I wish to stay with you both,” said Allen. I looked at Dhiya and Dhiya looked at me without replying.
